Getting here was a pain in the ass. As I was driving (2 hours away from CT, but 1 hour from my destination) I saw something fly off my car and into the middle of the highway. I was freaking out; this was the first time I'd ever encountered any kind of car trouble and I didn't know what to do. I had roadside assistance, but it was 6:00 on a Sunday and every auto shop was closed so I was going to have to get towed and then find a hotel until the next morning. As I prepared to endure this potentially terrible evening, the tow guy picked me up on I-91 and luckily the only damage was a blown tire, and he literally offered to give me one of his tires of off an old junkyard car of his. At first I was reluctant cuz I thought he coulda been some serial killer or something, but he was actually a genuinely nice guy and put on a tire for free! So I continued to drive to my new place 2 hours later unharmed.
At first it was kind of awkward moving in. I kept thinking of "my own place" but I have 2 roommates, so all the drawers in the kitchen were full and there were already dishes and silverware; the fridge and freezer were full, and I had nowhere to put my stuff in the bathroom. But after a couple of days I got more and more used to it. I found my own places to put my own things, and my roommates are great so it's not weird at all, and I even used to work with one of them at Novack. I'm sure once I start work I'll really start to feel independent and in control of my life and won't get bored staying at home all day. (And I'll actually be bringing in money so I'll at least break even instead of going negative from all my Wal-Mart/Dollar Tree purchases).
